CHRIS MASSARA
Fuse Workshop is a one-stop-shop run by this fellow on your left. Building and creating weird things has been a passion of mine since childhood. I was lucky to have a dad with a lot of tools, which I frequently used when I lived at home. In high school I used to build subwoofer boxes for cars, and in college I built PA systems (closely linked to my passion for DJing).
Five years ago I moved to Austin and bought a house. It's from my home and unassuming shed that the magic happens.
When I originally got into building it was mainly for myself and close friends. I wanted high quality, modern, slightly weird furniture nobody else was doing. Ends up there's a lot of people looking for the same thing.
My prices are reasonable considering the quality of the materials I use and the methods used. I do not cut corners, and I won't do a job unless I'm confident it will stand the test of time. If you have any questions please reach out, I'm happy to discuss all ideas!
Theory/Ideas
Nature, geometry, and science fiction are the basis for what I construct. Modern design, but grounded in natural materials such as wood, steel, and natural light. My designs fit in with a modern home that doesn’t mind diverging from what your typical Crate and Barrel catalog would recommend. From massive light box installations, gravity defying planters, walnut shelving, and steel platforms, I strive for unique and uncommon design created with time-honored methods.
